The sword lion, also known as "lion bites the sword", is a traditional Chinese folk belief that it can prevent evil from coming in, and its appearance is a statue of a lion's head biting a sword. Sword lions are commonly seen in the Anping area of Tainan and are often seen on the door eaves and photo walls of traditional local houses. It is said that it originated from the drills of the Chinese navy from the past. The soldiers returned home and put their swords and shields in their homes, which later became a trend.
