Sword lion, also known as "lion bites the sword" or "lion's bite," is a traditional Chinese folk belief that it will block evil from coming, and its main appearance is a lion's head biting a sword. Sword lions are common in Taiping, Tainan, and Anping. They're commonly seen on the eaves and photo walls of traditional local houses. It is said that it originated from the drills of the navy during the Ming and Qing dynasty over 500 years ago. It was also said that in order to commemorate the army, the sword and lion culture were carried forward in Anping, Tainan. Its strong traditional characteristics make this style a popular item at TAIWANIZE every year. Since 2015, the remastered versions of the sword lion are released every year. In 2018, in conjunction with the gay parade, a rainbow sword and lion style was released. The six-color rainbow flag was incorporated into the local culture of Taiwan, and Taiwan's history.
