In ancient paintings inside temples, you often see an older man with a broad forehead, white hair, and long-short heads. He holds a flat peach in one hand, and a white crane fluttering under his feet. This kind-hearted elder represents longevity and auspiciousness. The man is called the 'Nan Ji fairy', which means fairy from the star of the Southern Constellation. The Chinese culture regard him as a symbol of longevity, world well-being, and peace to be full of hope.
