This design is inspired by the traditional guardian symbol of Anping, Tainan: the Sword Lion.

Sword Lions are commonly seen on old streets and residential walls in Anping. They are regarded as protective symbols that guard the home and ward off misfortune. With different poses, colors, and expressions, Sword Lions reflect the lively character of Tainan’s local beliefs and folk craftsmanship, making them one of Anping’s most recognizable cultural motifs.

TAIWANIZE reinterprets the Sword Lion as a dimensional embroidery design, preserving its fierce expression and protective meaning while refining it with cleaner, more contemporary lines. The smaller embroidery size keeps the traditional symbol subtle and wearable, allowing Taiwanese folk imagery to become part of modern everyday style.
