TAIWANIZE ORIGINALS
Ximen Red House Screen-Print Modal T-Shirt
32-count modal | Smooth, soft hand feel | Taipei cultural graphic | Regular unisex fit | Original TAIWANIZE design | Screen print
This design is inspired by the roofline of the octagonal building of Ximen Red House in Ximending, Taipei.
Completed in 1908, Ximen Red House was originally known as the Shinkichō Market and is one of Taiwan’s representative early public market buildings. Designed by Japanese architect Kondo Juro, the octagonal building served as the market entrance, symbolizing the gathering of people from all directions, while the cross-shaped building behind it formed the main market structure. Together, they created the architectural identity that makes Ximen Red House one of Ximending’s most recognizable historical landmarks.
TAIWANIZE reinterprets the roof, window grids, and brick façade of the octagonal building through a black-and-white, woodcut-like line drawing, transforming this Taipei landmark into a cultural graphic made for everyday wear. “1908 VIBES · 2026 NIGHTS” connects the atmosphere accumulated since 1908 with the present-day city memories of Ximending at night.
